I have been busy this past month – learning, researching, practicing and planning. Although I may not have a lot to show for it now this is all paving the path for things to come in the future.

PROGRESS:

I’ve been learning LogicPro on my iPad. Found some good tutorials on YouTube and have been getting familiar with this DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). This gives me more flexibility than my old set up, and presents an opportunity to create music – although that’s a long way ahead.

Late last year (on Black Friday to be exact) I ordered a green screen set up because I was getting tired of my living room background . I did underestimate what was needed to set up the green screen, but I’ve done a few tests and I think I’ve got the set up figured out. Plus I did a test to make sure I could figure out how to make it all work on my video editing software (Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13.0), so far so good.

I set out to do some recording last Saturday. Took me about 45 minutes to set up the gear, 30 minutes for my hair/make up and then got in over 2 hours recording. Not only did my video card run out of space part way through the session (I think I lost a few takes), but when I was reviewing my videos at the end of the day they were all fuzzy. That’s discouraging – felt like I wasted about 4 hours of my day.  I did use that fuzzy video to test the green screen with video editing software, here’s fun screenshot from that test run.

But I learned from my mistakes, and the next day did some research on my camera settings and did it all over again. I am close to getting another video up on YouTube. My biggest challenge right now is to find an image or images that I want to have behind me. It’s hard to find images online, and a lot of companies offer a subscription but they are all a little pricey. I understand that photographers are artists and need to make a living too, but I need to balance that against the small budget that I have to do my passion project.

TIK TOK:

I do have a TikTok account by the way. [https://www.tiktok.com/@tracey_sings] I’m not that active on TikTok but I did download a video just recently. The duet feature is kind of cool, and I thought I’d try singing with Jacoby from Papa Roach (see video below). #leavealighton (note: I know the timing’s a bit off but TikTok can be like that sometimes)

#duet with @paparoach #duetthis 2nd try as my first post of this was way too distorted. Love this song! #leavealighton #mentalhealthawareness

LINKTREE:

There are so many social media sites, so I set up a LinkTree account, so I can put all my links in one place. (You can click on the image on the left, or scan the QR code on the right to get to my LinkTree.)
