Happy New Year!!
This year, before Christmas we were hit with quite a bit of snow. It may not seem unusual to get snow in the winter, however here in the lower mainland the temperatures are pretty mild and we don’t usually get too much of the cold white stuff.

Three days before Christmas I was going home from work. I was making my way down the slippery driveway, to the front door of my apartment where warmth and relaxation were just a few feet away. It was then that my feet shot out from underneath me and found myself on my butt. I got back up quickly, brushing off the snow and embarrassment. However I quickly realized something wasn’t right.
I went up to my apartment, dropped off my stuff, pet my cats and then typed into Google … “how to tell if arm is broken”. After a quick assessment I jumped on the skytrain to the hospital. Luckily it wasn’t too busy at the ER, but the whole process took about 3 hours and I made the journey back home with my new cast.

That made for a bit of a challenging holiday season. On the positive side it forced me to just relax, which I really needed to do. I caught up on my sleep, my laundry and a bunch of movies I had been meaning to see.
I hope you had a positive and relaxing Christmas and New Year. Cheers to 2023!
